The Foundation has been established by supporters to promote the club, to strengthen the bonds between the club and the community and to encourage the club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions. We aim to support the concept of democratic supporter involvement and representation in the club. The Foundation is also a community benefit organisation. It is here to build bridges between the community and Edinburgh Rugby and to use the power of rugby for the good of the community. We are a not-for-profit organisation and we are therefore the perfect partner between club and supporter. The Foundation needs you, the supporter, to make it a success.
Does Your Club Need Us
The Edinburgh Rugby Foundation is a non-profit making organisation for the benefit and promotion of both Edinburgh Rugby and rugby at all levels in the local community.
Since we were established in 2006, we have organised a number of successful fund-raising activities and some of this money has already been spent in accordance with our aims. For example we purchased equipment for Edinburgh Rugby’s Matchday Clinics, which are aimed at youngsters between P4 and S2 prior to Edinburgh Rugby home games. We are now looking to further increase our links to the wider rugby community within Edinburgh and the east of Scotland.
If you have ever attended an Edinburgh Rugby home game and seen our 50-50 lottery sellers, then you will have seen them modelling Edinburgh Rugby Foundation bibs! We now have a significant number of Edinburgh Rugby Foundation bibs, which we wish to donate to clubs in the local area for use at training sessions and events. We are now seeking requests from clubs and will donate on a first-come-first-served basis. If your club would be able to make good use of these bibs, please contact us as soon as possible by email at erfoundation@hotmail.co.uk stating how many bibs you would like. Depending on demand, we may not be able to supply you with all the bibs you require, however we will do our best to meet demand. Please reply by 7th September 2008. We are always seeking other ways of supporting mini, midi, school and youth rugby throughout Edinburgh and the East of Scotland, so if you have any other suggestions of worthy causes please contact us.
