The Foundation has been established by supporters to promote the club, to strengthen the bonds between the club and the community and to encourage the club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions. We aim to support the concept of democratic supporter involvement and representation in the club. The Foundation is also a community benefit organisation. It is here to build bridges between the community and Edinburgh Rugby and to use the power of rugby for the good of the community. We are a not-for-profit organisation and we are therefore the perfect partner between club and supporter. The Foundation needs you, the supporter, to make it a success.

EDINBURGH RUGBY FOUNDATION

The Edinburgh Rugby Foundation (The Supporters’ Trust) is delighted to announce that The Trust 50-50 Lottery at the last home game of the season against Munster on May 4th will be a ‘Rollover Event’.

The Trust Lottery has proven to be enormously popular with home and visiting supporters alike. One half of the proceeds from the sale of tickets at each game go towards Trust funds, with the other half being the with the other half being the prize for the lucky person who holds the winning ticket. The winning ticket will be drawn at half time by an Edinburgh player. There is a ‘Rollover Prize’ at this last home game since there is one unclaimed prize from a previous game this season. Since noone claimed the potential win by a given deadline, the unclaimed amount of £166 will now be added to the prize given out on 4th May: the total win is likely to be in excess of £300!

Tickets sell at 50p each and are available from the official Lottery ticket sellers prior to kick off. The more you buy the greater the prize and the greater the chance of winning! The funds raised by The Edinburgh Rugby Foundation as a result of the Lottery will be applied towards strengthening bonds between the Club and the community and to encourage the principle of supporter representation in the Club.

Edinburgh Rugby Foundation is further delighted to announce that it has donated essential equipment including marker cones, 100 Rugby Balls, speed ladders, 14 mini hurdles, 12 slalom poles and a number of standard kicking tees, for use in conjunction with “Edinburgh Rugby’s Evolution” . This is the match day event held by The Edinburgh Rugby Academy Manager, Graham Shiel, prior to home matches. These Pre – Match Core Skills Sessions allow young people the chance to train on the back pitches of Murrayfield, where they join some of Edinburgh’s Professional Players and receive coaching focusing on the Core Skills (Passing, Tackling, Contact, Kicking and Running Skills) that make up the game of rugby. Edinburgh Rugby Foundation is pleased to be of assistance in this activity which will both promote Edinburgh Rugby in the Community and encourage young people to participate in sporting activity.

Edinburgh Rugby's Academy Manager Graham Shiel said: "We're delighted that the pre-match core skills sessions have proved to be very successful with all the clubs and rugby players involved to date. In order to be able to hold this event, it is crucial that we have the relevant equipment and as we all know, that can be costly. So we are grateful for the Edinburgh Rugby Foundation's generosity in donating so much equipment for what is a very important part of our community programme. With their support, we now hope to be able to involve every P6 child playing rugby in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Central to come along and benefit from our pre-match event."

Edinburgh Rugby Supporters’ Trust confirms its continuing support for the work being carried out by the Edinburgh Rugby owners and their commitment to work with supporters to develop and nurture the game.
